Ninja Theories' newest project was one that was always going to rustle some jimmies. Young Dante, punk hair and a new engine, chaos ensues. For the flak they have received, DmC stands as a solid action title. The fact that it isn't a good Devil May Cry game doesn't really seem to affect how solid of an overal experience it is. There are bugs and glitches littered throughout the game. This is due to the development cycle of modern games and how often than not the QA Testing team is ignored or the project itself has been rushed, which leads to many final boxed retail products being shoddy.
Bugs and scabs aside, DmC focuses on AAA Movie set pieces capturing the chaos of the war between angels and demons. The aesthetic of the main character is important, I will not dispute that, but the fact that people have gone as far as to start petitions to say that the game is unwanted and should be banned from a country seems like a ridculous level to jump to.
DmC is not a perfect Devil May Cry game, but let's face facts (or opinion)... Devil May Cry games are not perfect Devil May Cry games either. There are bugs and glitches galore, broken elements and camera angles that seem to have a mind of their own.
Since the forced transition to 3D that games have tripped and stumbled through. The concept of a dynamic camera has seemingly troubled every single developer aiming to complete a game within a 3 year cycle. SEGA's Sonic is a perfect example of how a camera can really hold back a gaming experience. Every time in Sonic Adventure 2 the game even tries to let the player explore on their own, the camera begins to spasm and default to behind the character. These age old problems seem to still be around. In DmC the camera also has sometimes led to unneccessary death, is it time to give up on utilisation of a perfected camera system?
Every single Devil May Cry game has had camera issues of somesort and this one I suppose emulates these camera problems? Even though a new engine is being used, the age old problem of dippy camera hinders some of the atmosphere of DmC. Not to completely put people off of buying this game, it's a great action experience and most of all accessable.

Californication
So, It's two days past christmas and what of it? I've come across a gem of a series. Californication. Main lead David Duchovny stumbles through his life. A writer, and quite possibly god's gift in his opinion. The first season sees his antics and consequences of those. Quite entertaining and definitely not a Family visit. David's role Hank shows how when you fuck things up, the results can sometimes be dire. Sex,violence & drug use, as far as audience is concerned this as mentioned is not a Family visit.
Well that's my suggestion for the meantime. While on the music front I'm quite into soundtracks at the moment, be it from the latest Japanese Anime or Pixar's latest hit, I can never turn down a good soundtrack.
To sum it up Californication is a cheek in tongue down to earth rollercoaster that ceases to settle.
Now for people still on their holiday enjoy it and for those back at work. Well, good luck.

Encore
So you've probably seen something like this a million times before.
But what this blog is, is a series of opinions on suggestions on the media. Media encompassing music, films, games & current goings on. You may not like all of it, hey half of what I'm writing I might not like. But what I aim to do Is entertain you through a series of blogs designed to inform, and suggest good films, television series and above all else cut the middle man out of reviewing. You don't have to wonder If I'm only saying these things because I whipe my arse with money funded from company A, B or C.
So without further a do I have no set date for Blog posts but they'll be nicely distanced.
Watch this space.
